The Power of Prayer

Prayer... isn't it so cool? I think it is. The power of prayer is incredible. It works too that's for dang sure! I have had miracles take place in my life through prayer. When you are making the right choices in life, it helps because then He is bound to listen and answer back. It's funny when I look back in certain situations and realize how much my Heavenly Father helped me even when I didn't recognize it at the moment. He won't ever give up on you, so don't ever give up on Him. Certain things in life take a couple tries, but you can do it. Once you do, keep praying that you can stay with it. I say that particular thing because recently, I have had a "temptation" that I would give into every now and then. I would try so hard not to give in, but I would always go back to it. After a period of time, I found that I couldn't do it alone. I prayed to my Father in Heaven. At the beginning, I would still fall into the "temptation". At that time, I felt alone. In Sunday School one week, we had a discussion about how He will never give up on us and how He will do everything He can to help us with what we need to stay on the right path or maybe even get back on track. I kept praying for help and it still took a couple tries, but I had the faith. I have now overcome it. I still pray that I will be able to stay away from my particular "temptation" and I know that with his help, I will. I have had a lot more experiences with prayer aside from this one. This was just one that stuck out in my mind that I wanted to write about in hopes that it would help someone else. I know we all have our own individual "temptations". I also know that with prayer, anything is possible. I would like to end with one of my favorite scriptures: "Be thou humble, and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers."(DandC 112:10)

Heart Warming, Eye Opening, Life Changing

Everything about this woman is Amazing! Go to beckysampson.com and see for yourself. It may even help you in your life. She taught me soo much about the beauty in me and treating my body right to help connect me with the spirit and the gospel. It is so awesome how she is giving back after her experience. I'm astonished with all that she does.

Life Is Good

My life is so great. I love my life!!!! I love those times where you just go crazy from having so much fun and from being so hyper! Haha I love everything in and about my life. I love smiling and laughing! I love being outside! I love to chill! I love to eat! I love to dance! I love playing sports! I love the people around me! I love to party! I love everything about everything! Life is good mi amigos... LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!! :D :D Let's go out and have some fun!!!!

They Are Inspirations in the Eyes of Those Around Them

To begin, let me tell you that there are 5 girls in the basketball world that I really look up to a lot! These people would include Amanda Farish, Kim Hemenway, Aubrey Mackintosh, Alli York, and Shelbi Everett. Amanda and Kim are former basketball coaches of mine. Mac and York are the sophmore coaches, although Mac might not come back next year and York wasn't here last year. She just barely got back. Mac leaving is really sad to think about, but I am really excited for York to start up again! Shelbi is like best friends with Mac and York, but she played for Brighton and graduated the year before I got in. Each of these girls are so awesome. Amanda, Kim, and Mac all played college ball. I have so many challenging things that come because of basketball. For example, like right now, I am in a shooting slump (hopefully just temporarily) and it tends to get me a little down. Or like during the season, it's really hard to find the time and energy to do homework and study for tests. Manda, Kim, and Mac, by there example, and by making it to the college level, always remind me that this is not impossible to do. I can do this and I can do it along with being one of the best. York just seems like a really cool person. I have only really texted her so far, but once basketball really starts, I'll be able to get to know her better. She has been through some tough situations, and has been able to get past them with a good attitude and spirit. I admire that. For Shelbi, I have also only really texted her, but she helped me get through a really tough time when I had really low self-esteem in basketball. She helped me be more confident in myself. She just cared, which was really nice. I know a lot of people care about me, but when the help comes from someone that knows what you're going through and know what it's like, it hits a little harder and the advice digs a little deeper. Each of these girls have great personalities, fun spirits, and caring hearts. I hope I can be like these girls when I grow up. They truly are amazing. I could talk forever on how cool these people are, so I better stop myself here. Besides, most of them probably think I'm a bit odd ha ha, but that's alright :D They still rock!

Little Me and Little Update

I haven't been on here in forever but I was going through my computer and found some old photos that I must share:) By the way, I have been doing really well with my state of being. The only tough challenge that I am dealing with is a mental toughness. I have been through a trial that has really been challenging how well I can forgive another for doing what may scare me the rest of my life. The memory is so terrifying, but I know if I pray and if I want to be happy, I will be able to forgive, forget, and move on feeling freed of the fear. On the other hand, getting away from that depressing little story, I have been invited to play with this team called Salt Lake Metro. So far it has been really fun and it has been a huge opportunity for me to grow with my ball skills. The environment is so awesome and I love being with all the girls. They are so nice and very talented. I have much respect for them and the coaches. Metro is a blessing for me in my life! :) Here are some pics I found:

Team Time

So this morning we had practice at eight. It went really well:) Basketball is so much fun especially when you get to play with your amazing teamates, who over time, become your sisters. The bond that holds you together is crazy strong. After practice we had team dinner at Chin's house. The food was so delicious!! Thanks to the parents who helped prepare it. After we ate, we split into three groups and did skits:) haha they were so great! To end, we did the Bengal Train! It was very fun. It was funny too cause Gresh, Oami, and Mac did it with us. We have such awesome coaches that put so much time into helping us become great ball players. Thank you coaches and thank you sisters for making basketball so fun:) Love you all! :)

Musical Love

Music... I love it!!! Music is just so amazing and incredible. It has the ability to manipulate your mind. It can make you happy, it can make you sad, it can make you feel angry, it can make you feel invincible, etc. When I listen to music, I am in my own world! Anything can happen and nothing else seems to matter. Getting yelled at, a bad day at school, or even a bad basketball game can all go away as soon as you put the headphones on or as soon as the ear bud enters your ear. Nothing appears to be wrong at that point.
It changes the way you move the moment it touches your soul, whether it is the smooth movement of  your hand swaying into the air or the violent stomps of your feet against earth as you walk to the rhythm of the beat. You can't help but dance when you hear music.
Dance allows you to express yourself. No one else can argue what you have to say in your dance, because your dance is apart of you! There is no way to lie to yourself if you dance to the music that you hear.
Now, what I am going to go do is escape from this world, hear the music, break free, and dance! :)

The Magical Letter From SAMMIE!

So this morning I went to the gym and when I was playing some basketball, I got really frustrated at myself. A former coach of mine, who really knows her stuff, came to my first game and talked to me after on what I needed to change in my game. I kept trying to do it right at the gym, but I have some really bad habits that make it really tough. So anyway, it got me in a pretty bad mood by the time we left the gym.
When I got home I found a letter on the table that was for me:) I saw that it was from my best friend Samm. That got me excited cause everything she does is astonishing! I open it, I read it, and I love it!! It completely made my day!! She always has the right thing to say at the right moments in time! I have an AMAZING friend, who it seems as if she is my twin sister. " God made us best friends because He knew our moms couldn't handle us as sisters!" I love you Samm!!!!
